DEVELOPMENTAL KINDERGARTEN

The Developmental Kindergarten program is a full day, five days a week, skill-building program designed to prepare children for positive future school experiences.  Children who benefit from our Developmental Kindergarten are five years old but may need another year to grow and mature before being placed in the traditional Kindergarten curriculum and routine.  The developmental program provides a hands-on curriculum, offering an opportunity to meet various student skill levels.  The small class size allows for individualized attention to each child.  The program includes special classes, such as music, physical education and chapel.  After completing one year in the Developmental Kindergarten, the child will be prepared to enter our traditional Kindergarten program.

I'm so excited to be a part of the ACA family and already I feel at home here! 
 
I grew up in Ames where my dad worked as a fireman and my mom did in-home daycare for 11 years.  I've known for a long time that I wanted my career to be something related to working with kids.  After graduating high school in 2002, I went to ISU where I got my degree in Early Childhood Education.  While in college, I met my husband Brandon.  We dated for two years before getting married on September 7, 2007.  We now live in Huxley and we both absolutely love it.  Brandon graduated from ISU with a degree in Agricultural Engineering and now works for John Deere in Urbandale.  Cornerstone Church is our home church in Ames.  We love being involved with the great ministries they have going on there, especially the children's ministry!
 
Brandon and I are both first generation Christ followers.  We are constantly being blessed by the Lord and are so thankful for the mercies He shows daily.  We love serving our God, who is mighty to save, and look forward to raising up a Godly family.
