I grew up in central Iowa, the 9th of 10 children into a music-loving family.  My sisters and I sang together often and I was privileged to take piano lessons from a great neighbor lady.  The musicals, Christmas program, contests, and general love of music all lead me to further my education at Iowa State University.

While attending ISU, I was introduced to Christ through a Bible study.   I came to realize that I was a sinner and needed Him in my life.  I also met my husband, Steve, at college.  He is presently a professor at Iowa State and a member of the Gospel quartet, Higher Power.  Together we have raised, and are in the process of raising 5 children.  They are a huge blessing!

Our family has been involved in Christian education since 1986.   I have been privileged to teach piano lessons and music classes and volunteer at Ames Baptist Church Academy, Ames Christian School and presently at Ankeny Christian Academy.

I now work with the Developmental Kindergarten through 6th grades and the high school choir at ACA.  I appreciate the opportunity to help students learn to praise the Lord with many different musical styles.  It's my hope that they also come to enjoy God's gift of music!
