But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength.
They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary,
they will walk and not be faint.

I had the blessing of growing up in a Christian home.  My mother accepted Christ as her Savior when I was very young.  All throughout my childhood she brought us to church and taught us about her Savior and her faith.  I always saw the effect it had on my mother, being a single parent raising five children.  Her witness and testimony to me is what brought me to the realization that I need to make a choice myself.  I feared the thought of spending an eternity in hell, paying the price for my sin.  When I was seven years old I asked my mother to sit down with me and show me how I could ask for forgiveness and accept Jesus' sacrifice on the cross as a payment for my sin.  I wanted Jesus to save me from an eternity separated from Him.  She lovingly led through the life changing decision I made that day.  Since then I have experienced many blessings as God has guided me and grown me over the years.

Growing up with four siblings, I learned to love kids at an early age.  I can't remember the first time I knew I wanted to be a teacher; I always had a burden for that occupation and I knew God would somehow use me in that area.  He brought me to Ankeny where I started college at Faith Baptist Bible College.  It was there that I met and married my husband, Matt.  I finished college and received a degree in Elementary Education and Bible.  As a requirement for graduation I completed a semester of student teaching.   Being placed at Ankeny Christian Academy, I instantly fell in love with the school and the students.  My hope had been that it would be an opportunity for me after I graduated.   Then God opened the door for me to become the new third grade teacher.

I feel blessed to be working a Ankeny Christian Academy.  The students' smiles and loving comments always brighten my day.  My desire is to walk out of the classroom at the end of each year knowing that God has used me to challenge my students spiritually and academically.   I know that God has called me to Ankeny Christian Academy so I am confident that with His power He will do a work through me to affect the future of my students' lives.  Praise the Lord for such an opportunity!

My life verse is Deuteronomy 10:12 "....what does the Lord your God ask of you but to fear the Lord your God, to walk in all his ways, to love him, to serve the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul."
