I’m excited to be the spring semester teacher for DK-1st Spanish, 3rd-8th computer, and DK-6th library. I am a native Iowan, and have a BA in elementary education and music minor from UNI. Much of my teaching experience has included multiple age groups, beginning with a K-8th one-room country school in Nebraska (many such schools still exist there). I then lived in Dallas, Texas for 12 years which included more Bible education, teaching in a Christian school, getting married, and starting a family.
My roots in Iowa were deep, and we moved “back home” several years ago. When our 3 sons were school-age, I again taught in a Christian school: Bible classes, computer, 5th-8th math, K-9th music, and then kindergarten and first grade. My husband John works as a computer consultant in West Des Moines. Sons Isaac and David attend DMACC in Ankeny, and Jeremy is a junior in high school at ACA.
Throughout my adult life, I have trusted the Lord to lead and guide me. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “…plans to give you a hope and a future. Then you will call upon Me and come and pray to Me…” Jeremiah 29:12-14. My favorite Psalm is 121… “My help comes from the Lord, the Maker of heaven and earth…”
