My name is Janae Lindow, and I teach secondary English and related electives at ACA. I recently graduated from Faith Baptist Bible College where I double-majored in Bible and English education. I took an extra year to discover more about missions as part of the Arriba! program in Peru. While there, I learned to speak fluent Spanish and helped in local churches in Lima and Nuevo Chimbote. It is only God's grace that has led me to this point.
From an early age, my parents clearly taught me that I was a sinner and that sin had consequences. As I grew older, I learned that sin's consequences were far greater than temporary punishment; sin's penalty is death—eternal separation from God. I did not want to go to hell, so I began to pray that God would save me. I did not think that my prayers were sufficient, so I talked with a teacher after children's church. I do not remember much of what he shared with me on that day, but I do know that on that day I placed my trust in Jesus Christ for salvation and not in my ability to pray. Because I could not remember the date or the specifics of this occasion, I doubted my salvation as an early teen. My mother challenged me with 1 John 5:11-13 that I could know for certain that I was saved. In John 10:27-30, Christ explains that salvation is forever; I can never lose my salvation. Salvation is not based on my own merit because my good works are disgusting in His sight. Christ's death on the cross was planned by the Father and is the complete payment for all of my sins. Because of His gift, I have peace with God. I believe that I am created for good works and that He will be faithful to finish the work He started in me. The journey has been incredible!
I am excited to share my passion for God's Word and to use literature to teach discernment here at ACA. What a blessing to serve in a school that realizes the responsibility of proclaiming God's holiness and goodness!
