I grew up in a small town in Illinois. At the age of five, I realized that I am a sinner in need of God's grace! I repented of my sins and put my faith and trust in Jesus Christ as my Savior at the age of five in children's church at my home church.
After graduating high school, I attended Faith Baptist Bible college to attain my degree in elementary education. I graduated from Faith in 2006.
Upon graduating from Faith, I taught an enrichment program for Kindergarten in the Johnston School District. After a year of teaching, our program was phased out of the district. I spent time working at a law firm and subbing. I then fulfilled a long-term substitute position teaching 6th grade Math and Science in the Saydel School District.
I am so thankful that the Lord has brought me to ACA. I am very excited about the things that I will learn this year, as well as getting to know my students better.
A passage that I cling to is Romans 5:6-11: You see, at just the right time, when we were still powerless, Christ died for the ungodly. Very rarely will anyone die for a righteous man, though for a good man someone might possibly dare to die. But God demonstrates his own love for us in this: While we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
Isn't it amazing that a sinless, perfect, holy God would choose to make a way for us as wretched sinners to spend eternity with Him?!
