There is one particular line of an old hymn that reads, "My song shall be of Jesus; His mercy crowns my days..." I can never thank God enough for His Mercy and grace, but as I have the opportunity, I love to share what He has done in my life to bring me to this point! He has been so faithful to me!

I was born and raised in a small town in Iowa along the Mississippi River called Burlington. From an early age, my parents took me to church and A.W.A.N.A., and they taught my brother and me about Christ's death and resurrection. They encouraged us to memorize verses such as Romans 3:23, Romans 6:23, John 3:16, and Ephesians 2:8-9. I am thankful to my parents for their godly example because their obedience to the Lord was used by the Holy Spirit to challenge me about my salvation. I did not write down the date of the day I was saved, and, for many years, I struggled with the fact that I did not know the specific day. However, today I rest in full assurance of my eternal security because I believe that Christ died to save me from my sin. There is no righteousness in me, but may God be praised for sending His only Son to die for me, a sinner completely unworthy of His love!

God's abundant grace toward me has been evident in every season of life. When I graduated from high school, God in His grace led me to Faith Baptist Bible College. At Faith many godly men and women challenged me from the Word, and I am grateful for the training I received there as I studied to become a teacher! I graduated from Faith in May of 2009 with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education. It has been a great delight to see God continue to direct me, and I am overjoyed that He has given me the desire of my heart: to serve at ACA as well as to continue to fellowship with my church family at Urbandale Baptist Church, and to make Ankeny my new home! The Lord's ways are infinitely higher and better than our ways!

I am looking forward to teaching kindergarten at ACA, and I am so excited for the opportunity to teach the little ones God has entrusted to our care all about our Creator and Mighty God as we study many new things! I have a great burden to see my students trust Christ as their Savior and grow to love His Word. David says in Psalm 119:97, "O how love I thy law! It is my meditation all the day!" It is my prayer that I will live each day in a way the demonstrates my love for the Lord and His Word, and I hope that I can pass that love of God on to my students.

As I close, I want to share one of my favorite passages of Scripture. Jeremiah 9:24 says, "But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising loving kindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight," says the LORD. We have nothing to glory in but Christ alone! God knows the number of our days, and it is His desire that we would make each day count for eternity! I trust that we will faithfully seek the things above this year in kindergarten for God's glory and praise!
