I am the new Head Football Coach and Physical Education teacher at Ankeny Christian Academy. I have been a coach, teacher and administrator for more than twenty years. My wife Serena and I both grew up in Indiana. We have four children. Our two youngest, Thomas and Ashley are students at ACA.
I received Christ at the age of eight while attending “Camp Good News” in North Webster, Indiana. My favorite Bible verse is Eph. 2:8-9. “For by grace are ye saved through faith, and that not of yourselves, it is a gift of God; not of works, lest any man should boast.”
I graduated from Clearwater Christian College in the Tampa Bay area.
I have served in various roles in addition to teaching and coaching during my time in Christian education, including several years as an Assistant Principal, and an Athletic Director. I have coached football, basketball, powerlifting and track & field at the varsity level for more than ten years each. I have had the opportunity to coach more than 50 athletes who have gone on to play in college at such schools as East Carolina, Florida St., Taylor Univ., Liberty, Wheaton College, Tennessee, Miami, North Greenville Univ. and many more.
In 2004 I was fortunate enough to be able to lead the Asheville Saints, (a high school 8-man football team) to an N.A.C.A. national championship. Later that year I was named N.A.C.A. National Football Coach of the Year.
