Receptionist

Hi! My name is Rachel Givens! I am excited to be the new receptionist at ACA.

I grew up on a small farm in northern Iowa. I was very priviledged to have parents who love the Lord and were active in their church and in our camp. Because of my parents' and church's commitment to teach me about Christ, I accepted Christ as my Savior at the age of six. I continued to grow in Christ through faithful learning at church, camp, and home. Later, I was able to serve the Lord by helping with Vacation Bible School and counseling at camp.

My faith was tested in 2005, when my father passed away in a farming accident. Though it was a hard time for my family and me, I clung to the promise that God had a plan for my life and my family. I also have the hope that I will see him again in heaven. The Lord used this time in my life to bring me closer to him and showed me how to trust him more.

My life verse is Galatians 2:20 "I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ lives in me. The life I now live in the body, I live by faith in the Son of God, who loved me and gave himself for me."

After graduating high school, I attended Faith Baptist Bible College. In 2009, I received an Associate of Arts degree in the Administrative Assistant program. Then in 2011, I received a Bachelor of Science degree in the Administrative Assistant/Women's Ministry program. Through my years at Faith, I worked as a child care provider in the Johnston School District. My heart and passion grew for children as I worked with them daily. It was this love for children and my joy of office work, that God gave me the desire to work in a school office.

I met my husband, Joseph, at Faith. On July 30, 2011, we were married! The Lord has given us both a passion for children and teens and a desire to serve others.
