Facts and Accomplishments

Fall 2012

• New electronic ACA sign.
• Beginning our 20th year at Ankeny Christian Academy.

Fall 2011

• Forward in Faith Capital Campaign begins.

Summer 2010

• Moved renter to west end of building and moved the music room to that space.  Also moved the library and computer lab to the old music room creating a media center.  This provided space to create two Developmental Kindergarten classrooms, two Kindergarten classrooms and two 1st grade classrooms.

March 2010

• ACA Boys Basketball Team State Qualifiers for the first time

Winter 2010

• Seven students were inducted into the 1st Eagle Chapter of the National Honor Society.

Fall 2010

• Hired part-time secondary principal.

Fall 2009

• ACA-ICA 8-man Football Team State Qualifiers for the first time

June 2009

• ACA Freshman student was our first ever Girls' Golf State Champ! She won the Class 1A tournament on Tuesday, June 2, 2009 in a sudden death playoff. Victoria told KCCI reporters in an interview that she prayed and God helped her! To God Be the Glory!

May 2009

• The Ankeny Christian Academy girls' golf team won the District Class 1A Golf Tournament by one stroke, 409-410

Spring 2009

• Banker's Trust Company donated 55 flat screen monitors for our computer lab and classrooms
• The ACA Art Department co-organized and hosted the Rolling Hills Art Fair.

February 2009

• The Ankeny Christian Academy boys' basketball team won the first two games of the District Class 1A Basketball tournament

November 2008

• The Education Foundation of Ankeny Christian Academy was founded with 9 Directors and 6 Members on the Advisory Committee

October 2008

• First varsity ACA football Homecoming Game

Fall 2008

• The Journalism class published the 1st quarterly school newspaper, the Eagle Outlook.

Fall 2008

• First varsity ACA-ICA 8-man football team

May 2008

• The Ankeny Christian Academy girls' golf team won the Rolling Hills Conference Golf Tournament

Winter 2008

• Completion of men's and women's locker rooms with showers

Spring 2007

• Students performed the 1st ACA Musical, "OKLAHOMA!"
• Remodel of auditorium with full performance stage due to flooding damage from sump pump failure

Fall 2007

• JV 8-man football added

Spring 2006

• High school girls and boys golf teams added

• ACA freshman student won the "People's Choice Award" for her pencil wolf drawing at the 2005 ACSI Teachers Convention. This was voted on by 900 teachers and administrators at the Association of Christian Schools International Regional Convention in Minnesota.
• Joined the Rolling Hills Athletic Conference.

• The high school students performed the 1st ACA play called "And Then There Was One".
• The sport programs joined the Iowa High School Athletic Association
• The music room with practice and warm-up rooms were added along with a trophy case in the gym hall.
