What are the school hours?

Is it too late to enroll?

We welcome new elementary and Jr. High student enrollments at any time. Parents of High School students should call the school at 515-965-8114 to inquire about the possibility of enrolling their child during a school year. We welcome preschool and child care students at any time as long as we have openings.

May I eat lunch with my child?

Yes! If you plan on eating a school lunch, the office needs to know by 8:30 am the day you plan to visit. If you plan to bring your own lunch when joining your child, let us know by 8:45 am the day you plan to visit. The one exception to this is if you plan to eat pizza with us on Friday. Our pizza order is taken on Thursday morning, so please let the office know by 8:30 am if you plan to order pizza for Friday.

Who do I contact if my child has to arrive late or leave early?

Either call or email the office - 965-8114/office@ankenychristianacademy.com. Please inform us by 8:30 am the day of the appointment or earlier. We will inform the teachers of your child's absence, late arrival, or early dismissal.

What time is chapel? Are parents invited to attend?

Ankeny Christian Academy has chapel every Wednesday unless otherwise noted in our ACA Weekly Announcements. Elementary chapel begins at 10:00 am. Secondary chapel begins at 11:10 am. Primary chapel is at 12:15 pm. Parents are invited and encouraged to attend any of our chapel times.

When is the last day of school?

The last day of school is scheduled for Friday, May 25. Our make up snow days, should we need to make up any days, are May 29-31 and June 1, 4, and 5. 

What do I do if my child is ill?

Either call or email the office - 965-8114/office@ankenychristianacademy.com. Please inform us by 8:30 am.

My child has lost something, where should I look for the lost item?

The lost and found is located in three locations: by the preschool/child care office, by the 6th grade room, and by the music room. The items in lost and found will be displayed on tables outside of Mr. Stocks' room every other Friday before it is emptied and donated to Goodwill. Please check the lost and found regularly for lost items. We will plan to empty the lost and found the first and third Friday of every month.

It is a good idea to label your child's items especially in the younger grades. 

Is Ankeny Christian Academy accredited?

Our school has full accreditation from the state of Iowa for Kindergarten - 6th grades. Our 7th - 12th grades have college preparatory accreditation by the state of Iowa. We are currently pursuing accreditation from ACSI, Association of Christian Schools International.

When is Christmas break?

Christmas break begins on December 22. There is a full day of school on Wednesday, December 21. School resumes on Tuesday, January 3.

When is Spring Break?

Spring Break is Monday - Friday, March 19-23, 2012.
