Opportunities to Volunteer:
We will be doing our last round of DIBELS testing next week. I would like to have a parent come in and watch centers while I pull kids out to test. Dates and times needed:
Tuesday, May 3rd – 9:45-10:30
Wednesday, May 4th – 9:30-10:00
Thursday, May 5th – 9:30- 10:00
I have a parent who is willing to sponsor a child to go to Safety Town this summer in exchange for transporting their child. If this is something you are interested in please let me know and I will get you in contact with the parent.
Parent Volunteer Opportunities
I know that several of you are interested in volunteering in the DK classroom and I also know that some of you are unable to help in the classroom but still want to contribute to the class. Here are a few ways that you can be a blessing to me and encourage your child throughout the year.
Read to Kids Come in once in awhile or even weekly to read a story to the class. This could be a book of your choice or I always have books to use.
Library Reader Come in once a week to read to the DK classes. You would read to one class while the other class checks out books and then you would read to the second class. If you can’t do once a week but would like to team with another parent that would also be a blessing.
Cut at Home I would send lamination or other various things to cut out and return to school within a couple of weeks. This is a very low pressure job to get done and return.
Field Trips We need drivers for fieldtrips once in the fall (Oct or Nov) and one towards the end of the year (May). If you can drive and help carpool students to the fieldtrip it would be very helpful.
Helping w/ parties We will have two homeroom moms this year. I know that several parents are interested and we love to have as much help as possible, please let me know.
Other Anything else that I didn’t think of right now, which could be many various activities. Also anything that you have a talent or gift and would like to share with the class. This may include during community helpers and for example you are a nurse and would like to come tell the class what you do at your job. If it is something in this category please describe it to me or feel free to talk to me at school.
I hope that there is some way that you can help in our classroom this year. I am always open to having parents in the classroom so if you have a gift or talent that you would like to share I would love to hear from you. Thank you in advance for this encouragement and commitment to your child’s education. Please fill out the bottom and return it to Mrs. Namanny.
Arriving Early
Students who arrive before 8:00am will go to the lunchroom. I will pick the class up at 8:00am and return to the classroom when all will be able to enter the room. Students are not tardy till 8:10am.
Please do not go into the room until I am in the room.
If a parent is not with the student then the child must be in the lunchroom until I have picked them up. There is a lot of people outside our door and gets very crowded so it is helpful if children are monitored by their own parents until class begins.
Dismissal
DK dismisses at 3:00pm. We will take all students who do not go to Little Eagle's Nest outside for the carpool line. Always feel free to park in the parking spaces and come into the school. If you need to have a conversation with me please park and come to talk with me. The car pool line is not the time for a conversation. We work hard to keep the car pool line moving quickly. Thank You in advance for your help with this.
If you have any questions please feel free to come in and talk with me or e-mail me at cloudy.namanny@ankenychristianacademy.com

This has been a great year for volunteers and it has been a true blessing to me in the numerous ways that so many of you have helped out. It is amazing to work in a school that parents surround you with help and encouragement.

Question of the Week:
It is hard to believe that this is the last newsletter I will write for you this year. It has been an amazing year and this has been an amazing class. I wanted to thank each of you for the opportunity that I had this year to get to know your child a little bit. Thank you for entrusting your child to me for this short time.
I want to let each and everyone of you know that I am always here as a resource to you whether you continue at ACA or go somewhere else. I still get e-mails with how some of my students are doing and it is a great encouragement to me to see and hear from them. Please stop me when you see me out and about and come say “hi” to me. I love to see how you and your family are doing and I love to see how big they each get.
Here are a few last items of information for you this year.
The last day of school is on May 26. It will be a crazy day filled with many activities and fun. Mrs. Strong will be in the classroom subbing for me from 8:00-10:00 while I go be mom and attend my son's Kindergarten Graduation. DK will attend the Kindergarten Graduation as well and watch to see what they can look forward to learning in Kindergarten and help encourage Kindergarten friends they have made this year. At 10:00 I will return and we will have a fun time with a class awards ceremony. Please look for those when you pick your child up. This is my time to just celebrate with them and say my goodbye's to each of your children. At 11:30 we will go to the auditorium to watch part of the awards ceremony for the rest of the school. We will see who has been awarded the Christian Character award at that time. This day is a noon dismissal and no lunch will be served. At noon we will be out waiting and ready to celebrate summer being here. Please let us know if you need child care that day.
I wanted to say a special Thank You to all the parents who helped in some way to make this week so special for me as a teacher. I received several little items each day as well as a huge blessing from the PTF. PTF provided meals and covered all of our recess duties for the entire week. What a blessing it was to us. Thank you so much to all who thought of me on the teachers appreciation week.
