Wednesday - In-class - Practice Spelling Words; Introduce Vocabulary Words for List 6

Thursday - Vocabulary Words - Words in original sentences.

Friday - Exercises A & B, Page 17; Spelling/Vocabulary Workbook.

 

8th Grade - Literature - Completing Novel Unit; Beginning Spelling/Vocabulary List 13

Monday - Work on novel project due Thursday.

Tuesday - Work on novel project due Thursday.

Friday - 8th Grade Students will be helping with Field Day.  No class.  No homework.

 

10th Grade - Grammar - Adverbs and Their Uses

11th Grade - Completing Short Story Unit/Literature/Writing Connection/Analyzing one of the short stories read empahsizing one element of a short story.

Monday - Select short story and choose element students will be writing about.

Tuesday - Read handout and begin activities on handout in preparation for writing expository essay analyzing short story element.

Wednesday - No homework

Thursday - Complete Graphic Organizer

Friday - Complet introduction to expository essay including strong transition sentence.

 

12th Grade - Complete Gulliver's Travels - Begin Moby Dick - GULLIVER'S TRAVELS PROJECT DUE ON THURSDAY - TRAVEL BROCHURE - FOUR LANDS VISITED BY GULLIVER

Monday - Hand in Gulliver's Travels reading guide.  Read introductory material on Herman Melville.      Respond briefly to Who is Ahab and who is Ishmael in Scripture.

Tuesday - DVD Moby Dick - DVD Guide Response up to point viewed in class.  Students not in class are to read first sectioin of handout given out in class on Monday.  pages 297 - 301.

Wednesday - View DVD.  Students not in class read pages 302-304 in packet.

Thursday - Gulliver's Travels Project Due - Presentations - Study Guides Handed out for Semester Exam

Friday-  Last Regular Day for Seniors. Wrap-up Day.  Complete Study Guide for Monday.  We will discuss in class.

 

Compositon - Expository Writing

Monday - Present Expository Essay

Wednesday - Short essay response on "why things are the why they are."  Specifc examples given.  Students may choose to write and explain one.

Friday - Present Short essay responses.  Begin planning for creating an invitatioin.
