Home Work Assignments

AUTHOR PROFILE PROJECTS DUE TUESDAY, JUNE 1!

The students must practice their oral presentation at least 1 time at home before Tuesday.

Class Information

****We have not had issues with this yet in our class but I wanted to mention it just in case – but please do not allow your child to bring trading cards (Pokeman, Star Wars, Lord of the Rings, etc.) to school. They end up lost, ruined, or problems occur between students because they trade them without parents knowing about it.

PARENT RESOURCES:

How to Make Biblical Decisions:

As a class we will be working through a devotional called Developing Biblical Reasons, written by Mel Walker from Vision for Youth Ministries. This is to help teach children how to make godly decisions as they they grow up. If we are faced with a decision we work our way through the questions to see what God says about the issue before we decide.

Question 16:  Will Christ Be Honored?

Colossians 1:18

ANNOUNCEMENTS

June 3 – Last Day of School- Awards Assembly at 10:00.  EARLY DISMISSAL AT 12:00 instead of 12:30

 - Students need to have PE shoes and a Bible for school.

The fourth tardy in a quarter results in a ½ hour detention after school.

Please sign and return the behavior report in the mail folder each Monday morning.

Please check and sign your child's Agenda each evening.

Our main focus in learning to get along with each other as students will be to “CHOOSE JOY” and “OVERLOOK IN LOVE”. I do not allow cattiness or unkind words in my classroom. I have made this very clear to the students. I hold students accountable for the choices they make – whether they have started the problem or reacted to it in a sinful way.

We emphasize GRACE in our room – we need to remember that no one is perfect and that students will make poor choices and need to pull cards as a reminder to not make that choice again. Please think of all the times that we as adults sin and God shows us grace. I will let you know if there is a serious issue or I see a habit forming that we need to deal with more strictly.

Any behavior or social issues that happen during a recess or special – students must go to the teacher on duty when it happens – not save it up for the classroom teacher to deal with later. The Special teachers and recess teachers will then communicate any problems to me.

I allow students to correct papers that have a score of 89% or less. I give ½ a point back for corrections. To correct questions that have only 2 answers, students need to look the answer up and write the sentence it is found in to receive ½ credit. This policy is to help increase learning and retention, not to inflate grades, so please be judicious in what you have your student correct.

Red Slips – I require that any failed assignment or test be corrected. I will attach a red slip to it and send it home for a parent to sign. These slips need to be returned the next day.

4th Grade Special Schedule:

Monday – Computer, PE

Tuesday – Art, Spanish

Wednesday – PE

Thursday – Library, Music

Friday – Music, Computer

I would love to attend an extracurricular activity for each child in our class. It could be anything from a sports game, church program or concert, to a recital, etc. Please let me know about activities well in advance so I can try to plan when to attend.

For Fun!
