Objective: 1) begin with stretching exercises from home base along with 5 spot agility exercises 2) NEW LARGE GROUP GAME: “Parachute Activities”

Lesson Plan

 

To home base positions:

 

  1. 5 spots agility drills, adding different steps

  2. Stretching exercises

 

  1. New Parachute Activities

- Designate a few students to

help me lay out the parachute.

 

  1. Assign students to first set down at positions around the parachute. Review making a bubble & having it float down

 

  1. Again, have students raise parachute up above their heads seeing each other under the parachute & allowing it to fill up with air & then floating down.

 

  1. Do the bubble activity again from a standing position & letting it floating down - and then assign students to trade positions by running under the parachute when it is lifting up as it floats down.

 

  1. Introduce making waves & playing “mouse-trap,” game with ball and then adding small balls onto the parachute to do a pop-corn game & bouncing them off

Regular Routine

1) Flexibility Exercises:

    • Jumping Jacks

c) Balance Exercises:

- surfing

- airplanes (one leg)

 

 

Optional:

Dynamic stretching

from sideline of BB court to

other side: a) squat touching

one knee at time b) giant long

steps & 3) two leg hop's

 

Group activities – using Parachute with goals of working together, etc.
