Parmerlee's Year Six (May 23- 26)

Parents:

Field Trip: Monday May 23 sixth grade will be enjoying an end of the year celebration together at Adventureland Park. We will be leaving school at 9:25 a.m. and returning by 3:00 p.m. Please be sure to send sunblock and a sack lunch or a small fortune to purchase lunch at the park.

EARLY DISMISSAL/Last Day of School ALERT: Thursday, May 26 students will be dismissed at 12:00 p.m.

Run/Walk for Christ presented by Ankeny Christian Academy will be held on Saturday, June 11, 2011 with the 5k starting at 9:00 AM and the 1 Mile Fun Walk starting at 10:00 AM. Spelling Lesson

We will be working through some of lesson 33 but we will not be having a test this week.

A brief note letting you know that when a student scores 100% on Monday's pretest, they are not required to take the spelling test on Friday.

History

Our study of the early colonization of the New World continues.

Reading

This week we will be back in our reading workbooks after having completed our adventure following Johnny Tremain. We will be looking at adventure and poetry.

Math

Chapter 7 has been completed! Tuesday we will review and Wednesday the students will be tested over fractions and their usages as discovered in chapter 7.

Language Arts

Our study will expose us to direct objects, indirect objects, and direct addresses.

Health

This weeks health class takes us to first aid. What better way to end the school year than having a knowledge of basic first aid as the students prepare for an adventue filled summer and possible injuries that come with it!
